About the course
This course is designed for university students who wish to master the art of online academic presentations. It is ideal for those aiming to enhance their ability to communicate effectively in a digital academic setting.
In this course, students will explore the nuances of rhetoric and speech techniques tailored for the academic genre, with a special focus on the use of various digital media. The course aims to equip students with the skills needed to deliver engaging and recipient-adapted oral presentations using digital media.
The course is conducted at a half pace over five weeks and is delivered through distance learning. It includes a variety of learning activities such as literature studies, lectures, workshops, group discussions, exercises with supervision and peer feedback, as well as oral presentations with digital media.
The course has a process-oriented approach, requiring active participation in the mentioned teaching methods. There are only three web-based meetings at fixed times. There are no campus based meetings.
Course content
The course aims for the student to develop skills in making academic presentations online and to develop their ability to use different digital media in presentations.
The course deals with rhetoric and speech technique in the academic genre with special focus on the use of various digital media.

Malmö University provides students who participate in, or who have completed a course, with the opportunity to express their opinions and describe their experiences of the course by completing a course evaluation administered by the University. The University will compile and summarise the results of course evaluations. The University will also inform participants of the results and any decisions relating to measures taken in response to the course evaluations. The results will be made available to the students (HF 1:14).
